As the car and mall friendly suburbs beckon, how do you keep folks headed downtown? Evoke the authenticity, eclecticism, and originality that thrives at the core. NORTH worked with the Mayor's office and Downtown Marketing Initiative to make real matter. Take that Applebees. As a result, positive perceptions of downtown rose from 66% to 76% among Portlanders following the most recent holiday campaign. Retailers happily reported modest sales gains amidst a bruising recession.
